Topkapi Harem

It is very interesting and well worth the time. Here you will see amazing decorations of the Sultan's personal living spaces. 

Constantly being added onto with each new Sultan, today Topkapi Palace Harem has 300 rooms, 9 baths, 2 mosques, 1 laundry, and 1 hospital.

Most readers assume that the harem was for the sexual pleasure of the sultan. In some cases this was true, however utmost authority was the 'mother' of the sultan, the Valide Sultan, who ruled over the sultan, the Haram and the other women in the household. 

 And there was a Kizlaragasi, chief black eunuch who was in charge of the other eunuchs responsible for guarding the Imperial Harem.
