OVERVIEW: This full-day, guided public tour is very popular for those new to Athens. In the comfort of a luxury A/C bus, the modern and ancient architectural wonders of Athens will be visited.

The tour begins at  the white-marbled Panathinaiko Stadium, where in 1896, the first modern Olympics were held. Continuing, the excursion passes the amazing Temple of Olympian Zeus with it's 50 foot columns and Hadrian's Arch which divided the city in ancient times.

Driving on towards the sacred rock of Acropolis, the tour includes views of the National Garden, the Parliament Bldg, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Constitution Square.

Debarking the coach, we'll take a pleasant short walk to visit the Acropolis Museum. During this time you licensed guide will be answering questions and educating you abut the Herodion, the most intact temple in Greece, the area where Socrates taught, as well as passing the Dionysus Theatre which was home to playwrights like Sophocles, and Euripides. As a service, our guests will skip the lines of the museum and thus have more time to enjoy the impressive statues from archaic periods, the Caryatids, and the Parthenon hall with all it's treasures.

The tour offers a traditional Mediterranean lunch at a local restaurant under the slopes of the Acropolis.in the Plaka (God's Neighborhood). This is followed by a relaxing coastal drive to Cape Sounion, only 45 miles away from Athens, and includes splendid views of the Saronic Gulf and some of Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza).

It's an unique opportunity to see the Temple of Poseidon perched on the 197 foot high cliff that has been there as a beacon since 440 BC. Enjoy the magnificent views across the breathtaking panoramic Aegean. Many of the Doric columns still stand Then a leisurely drive back to your drop off point.
