DETAILS: You are picked up at the Piraeus Port then off to the "crowning jewel" of Athens, the Acropolis. Here, we see the "architectural masterpiece", the Parthenon, Temple of Nike, Temple of Athena, the Erechtheion and the "most ancient theatre in the world”, the Theatre of Dionysus and the Odeum. The 3,000 to 5,000 year history is represented masterpiece after masterpiece at the National Archaeological Museum. Afterwards, we're off to the bustling cobble stoned village of Plaka for sightseeing, time for a Mediterranean lunch and shopping for souvenirs in this ancient agora (shopping place). Lastly a City Highlights portion seeing: massive Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Parliament Bldg. with the changing of the guards, the Panathenaikon Olympic Stadium, Hadrian's Arch and more.
