Filerimos is a beautiful outing to a hilltop area 267 meters high, surrounded with lovely cypress lines walkways. It used to be the citadel of the ancient town of Ialysos, thought to be the nucleus of the ancient settlement called Achaea. Memorable for all of the peacocks that roam freely and the magnificent walk to the Calvary Cross which can be seen from as far down as sea level. There exists a beautiful church and courtyard which the latter has the distinction of being the only place on the island that an outdoor marriage can take place. Also, you will be seeing the foundations of the temple of Athena Polias, an early Christian basilica, and a small subterranean Byzantine church.
