Tips for saving $$ vacationing in Athens by Archaeologous

Archaeologous "Tips" to save money in Athens: There is a smart  'budget way' to see some of the very best ancient masterpieces in Athens and that is to buy one ticket and hold on to it. This would be the Acropolis ticket, (all inclusive to six archeological sites). It's good to use for the Acropolis, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Arch, the Ancient Agora, The Roman Agora, the Temple of Hephaestus, and the Stoa of Attalos. So hold onto that ticket stub everybody and save money.

Also,  you can save a ton by feeding the family from the fresh fruit and veggie stands located around the city and have lunch at the inexpensive 'yero yero' cafes where the traditional meat stick/pita sandwiches are served. These are found on just about every block.

Of course, if you are 'not' taking a professionally guided private tour, then buy a book about Athens and read it as you travel to all the places. This of course, saves money and time for the independent travelers or those that have been to Athens before and are ready to branch out to the region.
