Or maybe shop til you drop in the authentic Kemeralti Bazaar with its Turkish treasures and delights for everybody. Or perhaps a trip to the next legendary town over (approx. 1 hr drive),  Pergamon, with the world’s steepest theatre stadium and an extremely rich and creative history. On a private day tour you could go to the Izmir Archaeological Museum with spectacular antiquities spanning 5,000 years. Maybe you are not so much into history but more into outdoor fun, so many go to Adaland, Europe's largest water park which is only about 45 minutes outside Izmir. Some people like to just walk around the town center, viewing the Clock Tower and the Ataturk Monument and relaxing in the sunny seaside cafes for a  coffee or bite to eat. Whatever your pleasure Izmir is a mega spot just waiting for you to discover it whether you have just a day, multi-day or week vacation.
