The Venetsanos Winery enjoys spectacular views of the caldera and the Mediterranean Sea. A winery blending the latest in technological advancement with traditional vinification (wine making) methods. Interestingly enough, there is wine made from the same type grapevines that were found in the excavations from 3,500 years ago.
Venetsanos winery is one of the best in Santorini. The service is good, they speak English well and the presentation regarding each wine is thorough (they do know what they are talking about). They take time to talk to you, serve you, and answer your questions as they prefer to have no more than 60 people at a time.
The tour includes 3 wines (Assyrtiko (white wine), Mandilariá (red wine), and Vinsanto (dessert wine) and a plate with several mezédes (2 varieties of cheese from the Cyclades, Greek salami, tomato paste from Santorini, Santorini bread sticks and rusks).
