We'll visit the engineering marvel, the Corinth Canal, which took 2,000 years to complete and connects the Aegean and Ionian Seas. Then on to ancient Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Included is a visit to the Agora and the 6th century Temple of Apollo, one of the most outstanding monuments of the pre-Roman period.
Following this, the tour proceeds on to the ancient Port of Cehries, the disembarking point of St. Paul.
The private tour also includes the sanctuary of Goddess Hera, and the Heraion of Perachora. Extremely popular for cult activity from approximately the 9th century BC to 136 BC. Here you'll find the unusual construction of the Temple of Hera, an L-shaped Stoa (shopping area), and a large cistern and dining rooms. There is time for a traditional Greek lunch where you will experience why Greek food is considered some of the healthiest foods in the world.
After all this history, the tour becomes a bit lighter with a visit to the famed 25,000 acres of vineyards in the Nemea area where we'll enjoy learning about and tasting these famed wines
